Tiramisú (Italian for 'pick me up') is a classic and super-simple Italian dessert which is perfect for the summer. This version contains no alcohol or caffeine so it is particularly appropriate for kids.
Ingredients (serves 10/12):
Method:
Stir together the decaffeinated espresso and 1 tablespoon of sugar in a shallow bowl until the sugar has dissolved and allow to cool.
Beat the egg yolks and the remaining 150 g sugar using a whisk or electric mixer until tripled in volume. Beat in the Mascarpone for 3-5 minutes until smooth.
Dip both sides of each ladyfinger into the coffee mixture then line the bottom of a large serving dish with 16 ladyfingers arranged in rows. Spread half of the Mascarpone filling on top, grate the milk chocolate and sprinkle it over the filling. Dip the remaining ladyfingers in coffee and arrange over the filling. Spread the remaining Mascarpone filling on top and dust with cocoa.
Chill, covered, for at least 3 hours.
